Because of my theater and dance background, I used to wear “character shoes” all the time. And because they were comfortable, I often wore them when I dressed up and didn’t feel like wearing real heels. When I stopped dancing and gained weight, I could no longer fit my character shoes but I always wanted to find a good pair of character shoes aka Mary Janes.Inside the box, there was a package of extra heel pads. I got nervous and wondered if those heels were that much uncomfortable to wear. When I unwrapped the tissues and grabbed the shoe, I literally said, “Oh, wow!” Those heels are padded! Not only that but the insole is also padded. That’s when I realized that those Mary Janes were not a regular pair of Mary Janes. They were “orthopedic” shoes! I was just excited to see Mary Janes and I guess I didn’t pay attention to the descriptions about that. And that’s a good thing because if I read that, I might have not ordered them because most of orthopedic shoes tend to be pretty ugly… But these are actually very cute!I slipped my tired feet into the shoes, and ahhhh, it’s SOOOO COMFY!!!!! Even for my running shoes, I have to get an extra insole because my feet (and my whole body) hurt all the time. But those Mary Janes are padded everywhere and cushiony, just extremely comfortable and pain-free.I have wider feet and dress shoes and heels are often too narrow for me. Because of that, my shoe size changes depending on the shoes. I got 8.5 which is my regular/go-to size but because those shoes have very roomy toe boxes, I could’ve gone for 8, or even 7.5. If you have wider feet and wear different sizes like me,, then I would suggest getting the smaller size you wear. If you only wear one size, get the actual size. Now normally, having bigger size shoes makes it impossible to wear them comfortably. But because of the padded heels and the instep belts, I could walk around in those with no issues. Oh, the outsoles are not slippery at all.I love them! My feet love them too! I can't get another pair just yet, but I've already put another pair in tan on my wish list… Can’t wait!
